Never judge a book by its cover, so the saying goes. But we all do it, don’t we? That’s why covers – first impressions – are important, and it’s the reason why I opted for a re-design when launching my first ebook as a paperback.
Writers are incorrigible perfectionists, and I’m no different. I couldn’t resist having a tinker with the manuscript, tighten a sentence here, remove an unnecessary comma there. It feels sharp and punchy. But most of all I love the new cover. I hope it’s eye-catching
The new cover feels so very grown-up when compared to the previous one. I used the same ‘tag line’ (‘one invention will change everything’) but with the main image changed, it takes on a new relevance, suggesting a deeper meaning.
I have basically just judged my own book by its cover. For shame.
So what’s Morrison’s Ghost about, and where can you buy it?
“…have you ever heard of an anti-gravity generator?”
Graduate, find a job, get promoted, meet someone and settle down. For ‘Jim’ (aka Morrison’s Ghost) it was supposed to be easy. If it wasn’t for a mishap during a night out, he’d never have met Wedge and his fellow activists. He would never have met the most beautiful girl in the world or end up pursued by secret government agencies, shady corporations or a gun-toting private detective. And he would certainly have never heard of an anti-gravity generator.
When celebrity activist, ‘The Taff’ is murdered, Jim and his friends must protect the inventor known as Fitz and stop his incredible creation from falling into the hands of murderers, foreign agents, and the biggest enemy of all.
Was innocent music fan Andy really tortured to death? Is there really such a thing as an anti gravity generator? And can Jim deal with an agonising revelation about the love of his life?
Morrison’s Ghost is an offbeat eco-thriller and coming-of-age story with a hint of romance
- Available now in paperback for £8 and ebook format for £3.99
